This annual event takes place across Cape Breton and offers both locals and visitors an immersive experience into the rich and vibrant Gaelic culture of the island, bringing the warmth of the kitchen céilidh atmosphere to life.

Enjoy concerts, céilidhs, plays, pub nights, and square dances while revelling in the breathtaking scenery, cuisine, and hospitality of the island. Several kitchenfest events take place in and around our beautiful community of Mabou!

For example, this year’s schedule features a series of nightly events at the famous Red Shoe, a songwriter’s circle at the grand Strathspey Performing Arts Centre featuring Mabou’s own Heather Rankin and other special guests, a square dance in West Mabou, and a céilidh at the Mabou Hall.
