Mabou Community Initiatives
Mabou is a village on the western side of Cape Breton known for its pristine beauty. We are often told "Mabou is a village that looks like everyone cares for it". The Mabou & District Community Development Association (MDCDA) is dedicated to creating a vibrant, welcoming and beautiful village atmosphere and is asking for your help to keep Mabou beautiful!
With an amazing group of dedicated volunteers some of the initiatives that MDCDA carries out each year include our Annual Spring Clean Up and BBQ, installing and maintaining our docks and the marina area for the use and enjoyment of everyone, decorating our village for the winter season with festive lights and wreaths, and our Annual Christmas Tree Lighting celebration that always includes a visit from Santa, hot cider and caroling. MDCDA also maintains our welcoming village benches, much of the surrounding trail systems, and has decorated the village with flowers and banners over the years.
As a charitable organization with limited revenue, your support in our fundraising endeavours is greatly appreciated. Together, we can sustain the beauty and the welcoming atmosphere of our village for everyone to enjoy!
