Mabou’s charming Mother of Sorrows Pioneer Shrine sits on the outskirts of Mabou and provides a peaceful stop for visitors. This religious shrine is located in a miniature church that is dedicated to the pioneers of the Mabou area.

Each year on the second Sunday in September the shrine hosts an Annual Feast Day celebration that involves a series of events at the shrine itself, followed by Mass at St. Mary’s Church in Mabou and refreshments at the nearby Mabou Community Hall.
